AYLEE

Costumes By You

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green body suit
- Purple paint
- Green tail/fabric tube
- Safety pin
- Make-up
- Balloon
- Newspaper
- Glue
- Water
- Green paint

Paint purple spots onto the body suit and tail piece. Pin the tail to the costume.

For the head, blow up the balloon to a large size. In a bowl, mix 2 cups of water with 2 cups of glue. Tear the newspaper into strips. Dunk each strip into the mixture, slightly wring it out, and apply it to the balloon. Make sure you put on at least three or four layers. Let it dry. Once it's dry, pop the balloon with something sharp. You will have a shell type of thing. Now, cut a straight edge around the bottom of the shell. Make sure your head will fit into the shell because this is your head extintion. Paint the shell green and let it dry. Feel free to paint on purple ears, unless you made them with the paper mache`. Paint the purple spots on. To attach it to your head, you can either wear it like a hat or attach string to it and tie it to yourself, or whatever you come up with.

- Blonde wig

Paint purple spots onto the body suit

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green body suit
- Purple paint
- Face paint

Paint purple spots onto the body suit

If you can't find purple wings, you can always buy those kiddy angel/faerie wings and paint them purple.

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green body suit
- Purple paint
- Green tail/fabric tube
- Safety pin
- Long floppy ears

Paint purple spots onto the body suit and tail piece. Pin the tail to the costume. Paint the ears purple.

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green body suit
- Purple paint
- Old longsleeve green shirt
- Stuffing (socks, cotton, anything)
- Safety pins

Cut off the arms of the green shirt. Safety pin one end of each and stuff them. Then safety pin the open side and attach them to your sides. Paint purple spots on your costume.

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green body suit
- Purple tissue paper
- Straight green dress
- Green shoes
- Extra green fabric
- Headband
- Glue

To make the long body, you'll use the dress with some extra fabric attached to it. Try staples, duct tape, or safety pins. You can always cut out a more pointed shape from the fabric, or you can be weird and just let it hang in a big square bunch.

For her headpiece, cut out the shape from the tissue paper. Glue it to the headband.

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Green pants
- Mauve longsleeve shirt
- Purple paint
- Cardboard
- Glue
- Safety pins
- Headband
- Yellow paint
- Green paint
- Long green fabric tube or straight skirt
- 2 green trash bags

Wings - Cut 10 1" wide strips out of the cardboard. Take five strips and glue them together in the bone structure of a wing (SEE HERE). You might want to end up glueing the ends to a cardboard rectangle so it's easier to use later. Once the structure dries, place a trash bag over it. Now, use some tape and have it hold itself from the inside. This may sound a little confusing, but it works. Roll tape into O-shapes. Open the bag and place the tape on the structure. I also suggest using glue. Make sure you make the trash bag tight around the structure by using tape. This requires a lot of tucking and taping. Safety pin them to your shirt.

Make two horn shapes out of cardboard. Use the picture of Aylee as a guide. Tape or glue the cutouts to the headband. Paint it yellow with green dots.

Take your long green skirt/tube and cut a slit up the front until you reach mid-thigh. Paint the front part yellow, including your pants.

Aylee - This would consist of:
- Newspaper
- Glue
- Water
- 4+ yards Chicken wire
- Purple & pink paint
- Cardboard
- Purple shirt and pants, 3 pairs of purple socks

For the shell, use 2-3 yards of chicken wire to build a frame that resembles a crab shell. Make sure you can get in and out of it, that it is shaped properly, and that it's comfortable. Once this is taken care of, mix 3 cups glue with 3 cups water. Tear the newspaper into strips and start dunking the strips into the mixture. You need to make a paper mache` mold around the chicken wire. After you have the entire thing covered fairly well, let it dry.
Once the shell is dry, add the little details with more paper mache`. Then let that dry before painting it.

You'll want to use the rest of the chicken wire to make two claws. I suggest making bracelets with huge claws attached, so you can move your hands. You'll want to paper mache` these and paint them as well.

The socks. Stuff the socks with newspaper. Safety pin three to each side of you for the effect of extra legs.
